LITS hosts paid internships and fellowships that give ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æÓ°Òô students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in library and information technology fields. Summer undergraduate interns participate in the Career and Civic Engagement Center's professional development program.

Careers in Library & Information Science: A Week-Long Exploration

ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æÓ°Òô Library and Information Technology Services, in partnership with Haverford, Swarthmore, and Lafayette, are hosting a paid week-long workshop from Sunday, May 21 to Friday, May 26, 2023. Housing provided at Haverford. The deadline for applications is Sunday, April 2, 2023.

Special Collections Internships

The Special Collections Internship program is a paid 8-week summer internship opportunity for ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æÓ°Òô undergraduate students, sponsored by the Friends of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æÓ°Òô Libraries. Program dates: June 3, 2024 - July 26, 2024

Special Collections, a unique department within the Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) division, provides access and programming around extensive collections of rare books, manuscripts, artworks, cultural heritage objects, digital collections, and the college archives. During this experiential internship, interns will gain hands-on experience rotating among these various collections. 

Students will learn the behind-the-scenes work of special collections libraries, archives, and cultural heritage organizations including aspects of preservation, collection management, digital archiving, outreach, and interpretation, as well as touch on current topics in the field.

Digital Technology Internships 

Through the Career and Civic Engagement Center's Summer Internship Partner Program, LITS hosts several 10-week, full-time paid summer internships that enable undergraduates develop their digital competencies while working with Bryn Mawr faculty and staff on projects that support the College's educational programs and mission. Projects can include developing documentation and training materials for digital technologies, developing instructional or informational videos, helping with website design and production, and helping faculty develop digital course assignments. , typically from January through late February/early March. 

Digital Scholarship Summer Fellows

The Digital Scholarship Summer Fellows program offers paid, part-time academic year and summer fellowships which give Bryn Mawr undergraduates the opportunity to learn digital scholarship methods and gain professional experience while working with IT professionals, librarians, archivists, and digital scholarship staff on a collaborative, public-facing digital scholarship projects. Who Built Bryn Mawr? Summer Internships

Continuing Bryn Mawr students are invited to apply for two (2) summer internships working on the next phase of the Who Built Bryn Mawr? Project.The project will involve extensive historical research and writing to produce labels for objects on campus and a public presentation of their work as part of the four-year focus on Asian histories at the college. These internships will offer students the opportunity to learn how to do historical research with primary sources and to share their experience and findings broadly. Interns will develop digital and material archives skills, as well as curatorial and website development strategies. To apply, submit your resume via this  Deadline March 15, 2024.
