Dance Technique Courses
Many students come to Bryn Mawr with experience in technique and performance and the classes support their continued growth in dance. The program is equally interested in providing a solid and engaging introduction to dance for those who have had little or no experience.
Each year the Dance Program offers concert forms including ballet, modern/contemporary, jazz, African diasporic dance, hip hop, and tap. Also offered on a rotating basis are courses in flamenco, classical Indian, and capoeira.
Most technique and ensemble courses can be taken for academic credit and all can be taken for PE credit.
There is some tuition support for dancers at the advanced level in a range of techniques to take additional classes in nearby studios or in Philadelphia.
Students can continue to take courses in dance even if they are not pursuing a dance major or minor. Students participate at the level and intensity that most suits their experience and interest during their four years at Bryn Mawr.
