What鈥檚 happening at your internship?
Sonos is a sound company that makes speakers. I鈥檝e been working on the Interaction Experience Partners team as a tester. I鈥檓 automating tests for the iOS app that is used to control the speakers.
Why did you apply for this internship?
I鈥檝e always been interested in Sonos as a company, and I knew I wanted to work in the entertainment/tech industry. I felt like the position I was applying for was different than anything I鈥檇 ever done before, so I was excited at the possibility of learning something new.
What is most rewarding about your internship?
I think the most rewarding part of my internship is that I get to work with so many different people while learning a lot of new programs. I feel like my internship hasn鈥檛 simply been limited to just my project or my team. I鈥檝e gotten to learn about so many different aspects of the company and seen the work that other people in the company do as well. This gives me a better idea of how the company functions as a whole, as well as an idea of different work I would like to try in the future.
Was this internship what you expected it to be?
This internship has ended up being more than I ever expected it to be. Initially, I was nervous that I wouldn鈥檛 get as much out of it because it had been moved online, but I feel like I鈥檓 having a really fulfilling experience. I knew that I liked the product and that I would enjoy working in iOS, but in addition to that, I鈥檝e also gained a lot of appreciation for the company culture. Despite being an intern, I鈥檝e been treated with complete respect from everyone I鈥檝e worked with and it鈥檚 really increased my confidence in my skills.
