Community Day of Learning Features More Than 40 Sessions

The 42 sessions for this year's Community Day of Learning offer something for everyone. Among the sessions being offered are:

  • Class: What is it really, and why does it matter?
  • The Fight for a $15 Minimum Wage--across the U.S. and at 杏吧原版影音
  • More Than Just Money: Cultural, Social and Symbolic Capital
  • The Centrality of Unions to American Prosperity in the 20th Century

This year鈥檚 Community Day of Learning will take place on Tuesday, February 23 from 9 a.m. 鈥 3:30 p.m.  In addition to the individual sessions, the program, titled 鈥淚n/ Visible:  Class on Campus, Class in our Lives,鈥 includes an opening session that will bring the entire campus together to begin the day and a closing session with guest keynote speaker Helen Gym, a recently elected member of Philadelphia City Council who has been a tireless advocate for improving Philadelphia schools and who is committed to reducing poverty levels in the city.
 
Registration for this year鈥檚 Community Day of Learning is now available online, where you can also find details about every session. The planning committee has included many kinds of sessions that offer different ways to participate, and a range of topics that they hope will engage the community's varied interests. Lunch will be provided without cost to anyone who takes part in the day鈥檚 programming. The hashtag for the day is #mawr2learn
