How do you feel about receiving the McPherson Award?

I am extremely humbled and grateful. I absolutely love my job and feel so lucky to have been at Bryn Mawr for 15 years.

When did you start working at the College? Were you always in the position/department you are in now? If not, can you talk about your path to get here?

I started working at Bryn Mawr in 2009. I first worked in Alumnae/i Relations and Development as the Annual Fund associate and then gift planning program associate. I transitioned over to Human Resources in August 2018.

What do you like most about your job?

As the department coordinator of HR, I sit at the front desk, so I get the opportunity to meet candidates coming in for interviews, newly hired staff, staff with benefit questions, and staff that are leaving the College. Everyone's journey looks different as they step through those doors, so I try to provide that friendly hello and conversation to hopefully help that person feel welcomed and heard.

Is there anyone you work with who inspires you?

My co-workers in HR are wonderful people. I feel lucky I get to work with nice, caring, funny people. I especially enjoy my daily first-floor comradery with Marty, director of HR, who truly is someone I admire and feel fortunate to learn from every day.

Do you have a favorite spot on campus?

What are your interests outside of work? What's something that most people at the College wouldn't know about you?

I have 8-year-old triplets: Brendan, Annie, and Ruth. Along with them, my husband, Patrick, and I like to travel and find fun places to explore. This summer, we have been to New York City and have trips planned to Colorado, South Carolina, and Avalon, NJ. I love reading historical nonfiction. You will find me tending to my garden most Saturday mornings.
