Biography
Carrie Young is a Visiting Instructor at the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research at ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æÓ°Òô. As a social work practitioner, Carrie has worked in many settings and with many different people, including parents and families involved with the child welfare system, young children in foster care, incarcerated people, injection drug users learning about safer injection strategies, adults facing foreclosure of their homes, and fellow members of grassroots human rights organizations. She has extensive experience with group facilitation and community education. As a social work educator, Carrie has taught broadly across the graduate foundation curriculum for nearly 20 years, including both in person and online courses. Carrie’s scholarly interests include issues related to social work pedagogy, contemporary and historical social movements, and notions of shared power in social work practice.
